Fence installation in Hurricane
Bigger lots, orchards and horse properties alongside new subdivisions, all on the way to Zion and Sand Hollow.
Hurricane is the easternmost city in the St. George metro area, at about 3,258 feet with the Virgin River along most of its northern edge. It had 20,036 residents in the 2020 census. The town was settled in 1896, and the Hurricane Canal, finished in 1904, carried the water that made its peach, pecan and pistachio orchards possible. That farming history still shows in the larger lots and rural parcels mixed in with newer neighborhoods.
Typical Hurricane fence jobs
- Vinyl privacy and block walls for new homes
- Ranch rail and pipe fencing on larger lots
- Horse and livestock fencing on rural parcels
- RV, boat and toy-hauler gates for trips to Sand Hollow and Quail Creek
- Replacing old wire and wood fences on orchard properties
Larger lots, different fences
Fencing an acre or two is a different job than closing in a subdivision backyard. Long runs make material choice matter more, rocky ground can slow post holes, and livestock fences need to hold animals that lean, rub and push. Pipe rail and ranch-style vinyl are popular for horses because they're visible and lack barbs.
Check Hurricane's own rules
Hurricane City sets its own zoning, including what's allowed on agricultural and residential parcels, and some neighborhoods have HOAs. Ask the contractor to confirm height and material rules with the city for your address.
